Send Your First Campaign
Once you have a list with subscribers and a connected sending server, you're ready to send your first campaign. This guide walks you through creating a campaign, writing your content, previewing it, and sending or scheduling it.
Step 1 — Create a new campaign
Go to Campaigns in the left sidebar and click Create Campaign. You'll be asked to choose a campaign type — select Regular Campaign for a standard one-time send.
Step 2 — Set up the campaign details
Fill in the campaign settings:
- Campaign name — An internal name for your reference, like "September Newsletter". Subscribers don't see this.
- Subject line — The subject your subscribers will see in their inbox. Keep it clear and relevant — avoid spam trigger words like "FREE!!!" or "Act now".
- From name and email — Pre-filled from your list defaults, but you can change them per campaign.
- Reply-to — Where replies go. Defaults to your from address.
- List — Choose which list to send to.
Step 3 — Write your email content
Aledamail gives you three ways to build your email:
- Drag and drop builder — A visual editor where you can drag content blocks, images, and buttons into place. Best for newsletters and marketing emails.
- Classic editor — A rich text editor similar to a word processor. Good for simple text-based emails.
- HTML editor — Paste or write raw HTML for full control over your email design.
Choose whichever works best for you. You can switch between them at any point while the campaign is still a draft.
Personalization tags
You can personalize your emails using merge tags. For example, to address each subscriber by their first name, use:
Aledamail will replace this with each subscriber's actual first name when the email is sent. Available tags are listed in the editor sidebar.
Step 4 — Preview and test
Before sending to your full list, always send a test email to yourself:
- Click Send Test Email in the campaign editor.
- Enter your own email address.
- Check how it looks in your inbox — on both desktop and mobile if possible.
Look for broken images, formatting issues, and make sure all links work correctly.
Step 5 — Send or schedule
When you're happy with your email, click Next to go to the sending options:
- Send now — Delivers immediately to all subscribers on your list.
- Schedule — Pick a date and time to send. The time is interpreted in your account timezone — make sure your timezone is set correctly under Account Settings.
Click Send or Schedule to confirm. For large lists, the send runs in the background — you can track progress from the campaign stats page.
Step 6 — Track your results
After sending, go to the campaign and click Statistics to see:
- Delivered, opened, and clicked counts
- Unsubscribes and bounces
- Top links clicked
- Open rate over time
