How to Create a Mailing List

3 min read

A mailing list is the foundation of everything you do in Aledamail. It holds your subscribers and defines the default sender details used when you send campaigns to that list. You can have multiple lists — for example, one for your newsletter, one for product updates, and one for a specific campaign.

Step 1 — Go to Lists

Log in to your Aledamail account and click Lists in the left sidebar. Then click the Create New List button in the top right corner.

Step 2 — Fill in the list details

You'll see a form with the following fields:

Use a domain you own. Your from email must be on a domain you control — not a Gmail or Outlook address. For example, hello@yourcompany.com not yourcompany@gmail.com. This is required for SPF and DKIM authentication to work correctly.

Step 3 — Set your contact details

Scroll down to fill in your company name and mailing address. These are required by email law (CAN-SPAM in the US, GDPR in Europe) and appear in the footer of every email you send. Aledamail adds these automatically — you don't need to include them in your email template.

Step 4 — Save the list

Click Save. Your list is created and ready for subscribers. You'll be taken to the list overview page where you can start importing contacts or managing settings.

What's next

Once your list is created, the next step is to add subscribers. You can import a CSV file, add subscribers one by one, or connect a sign-up form.
